The pawn is played by an Istanbul Townhouse, the Maiden's Tower makes for a perfect Rook, The entrance portico to the Grand Bazaar stands in as the Knight, whilst Dolmabahçe Clock Tower plays the perfect Bishop. The Galata Tower and the Hagia Sofia Mosque take centre stage on the board as the King and Queen.
