More Than a Game: The Art of Making Skyline Chess
Craftsmanship is one of the core pillars of our business - reflected in our careful choice of materials, our commitment to a sustainable process, and the artisanal skills we’ve nurtured through meaningful collaboration.

The Choice of Materials
As proud ambassadors of craftsmanship, we place the highest importance on material quality. Every element is carefully selected, and each detail is meticulously considered.
Our chess sets are crafted using luxurious materials such as bronze, marble, and fine metals.
The Manufacture
Since we manufacture a product that didn’t previously exist, we’ve had to pioneer entirely new production methods - carefully balancing scalability with the integrity of each design.
Every piece must faithfully reflect its architectural inspiration, while meeting our standards for weight, finish, and overall quality.
For the our bespoke Luxury bronze sets, a lost-wax casting technique that dates back over 6,000 years is used by a foundry run by a small family business in the Jewellery Quarter in Birmingham, safeguarding a timeless skill whilst creating a timeless game.
Our Growth as Artisans
Since founding Skyline Chess in 2013, we’ve grown not only as professionals, but as artisans.
As architects, we have a deep appreciation of form, function and detail – we’re fascinated with how the how things are made.
Being an artisan means understanding materials, navigating variables, and responding with skill and precision, a balance we’re dedicated to mastering, day by day.
Our clients
We have been honoured to create beautiful bespoke luxury corporate gift sets for global companies and prestigious individuals around the world, which include: Chanel, Rolls-Royce, Musei Vaticani, Cunard, NBC and more.
