BRUTALIST LONDON
Makes for a powerful backdrop for the game at hand. The iconic era has inspired a unique edition, showcasing a selection of the raw concrete architectural forms of the movement, built around the city in the mid 20th century.
In this set the pawns featured are the terraced housing of the Alexandra Road Estate in North London, One Kemble Street is cast as the rook, the instantly recognisable Trellick Tower is perfect as a knight, Petty France plays the bishop, Centrepoint is a regal queen and Cromwell Tower from the Barbican Centre stands proud as the king of Brutalist London.
IN PRESS
Each piece is hand-cast in resin in the UK. The darkness of the resin makes for a perfect concrete setting for each of the buildings. The hand screen-printed Corian playing board follows the brutalist design, featuring the window fenestrations from Centre Point and One Kemble Street, both designed by the architect George Marsh.
Each set and board comes in its own presentation box.
Available in a range of different edits: the Acrylic Edition, the New York City vs London Luxury Edition, the Premium Metal Edition, the Luxury Bronze Edition and the Premium Special Edition, pitting the Big Smoke against another of the architectural greats in our collection.
