Looks and feels very stylish with a good weight to the pieces very happy with purchase.
Great for playing and as a centre piece. The pieces are a good weight and hold steady. The only small downfall is the top of some of the buildings are very narrow and one came with a very small dint in. However, saying that it's great!
Lovely gift. Beautifully packaged and rapid delivery.
Will make a stunning display even when not used as a chess set.
monochrome acrylic set
Plays a perfect nod to the concrete tones with the world of architecture, whilst allowing the form and detail of each building to be truly appreciated.
An ode to the modern masterpieces within the city. Terraced houses play the perfect pawns, Big Ben makes for a regal rook, the London Eye is cast as the knight, 30 St Mary Axe steps into the role of the bishop perfectly, whilst the Shard lends its elegance and might to the role of the queen. When it comes to the Big Smoke, the stature and significance of Canary Wharf makes for the perfect King of London, and this piece stands at four and a half inches tall.
Immortalised in this game of greats, capturing the essence of the early 1900's construction boom and the growth of skyscraper architecture across New York’s skyline. Contemporary counterparts take place in this edition with some of the city's most recognisable silhouettes; The Guggenheim is the rook, the Flatiron Building is the knight, The Chrysler Building makes for an incredibly powerful bishop, whilst the undeniable grandeur of the Empire State Building makes for the perfect queen and the poignant, impeccable design of One World Trade Tower is the only choice for king in this horizon.
